A very happening place with amazing foods. Beautiful space and best server, I love this place so i will be coming again.
Great food and good value. Didn't feel rushed which allowed us girl's to catch up. Service was good too!
We held our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at Casa De Oro. We had the upstairs dining area to ourselves. The manager made it very easy to make arrangements for the celebration. The tables, seating four people each, were spread out for Covid considerations. The service was very accommodating, especially for a couple of us who were gluten-sensitive. The food was freshly prepared and excellent. We also ate there with just our immediate family the day before - all very good food and service. I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Always great and friendly service. Food is always good. The owners and staff are great people.
0h my goodness. I cannot say enough good things about this meal, the staff or atmosphere. Beautiful decor, and so clean!! Loved the food. I had Miguel's Special shrimp and scallops and hubby had the bacon wrapped shrimp....loved both. Friendly, helpful staff. You gotta try this place!!
Hands down, the best Mexican I've had in Iowa!
Queso comes free with your chips when you sit down and the chimichanga was great!
Great service and this tequila is fantastic! Never thought that I would ever say that....
Food was great as always. We did wait quite a bit longer than usual to have our drink orders taken and our drinks served. But our server was amazing and friendly. And i know I said it already but the food was AWESOME
Omg absolutely fabulous. Yes yes yes. All the yes. Go here.
The food was hot and delicious! I ordered some chips and queso and salsa with my carry out order and the large size was enormous! My inner fat kid is jumping with joy at all the queso?
Amazing food every time we come, everyone is very nice and the service is just right Salvador knows our drink order and where we like to sit
Actual flavor. Clean facilities. Friendly and tentative staff. Quick service.
I always use Mole sauce to determine if a Mexican restaurant is any good. They have a good Mole and everything else is good too. Try the tortilla soup. You won't regret it.
Excellent decor, service and food. Worth the trip from Wesr Des Moines.
Always great food and service here! I love this restaurant.
These poor people where snowed under with patrons from a basketball tournament. They remained professional and couteous. They handled the crush and their food is absolutely the best Mexican food i have ever had.
Food is always good. Staff is usually very friendly. Typical prices of a Mexican restaurant. Love that they give queso with the chips as well as salsa!
Awesome authentic Mexican and not the greasy fast food type. Great service with very friendly staff. Plus you get a lot of food. I've got enough for lunch and dinner tomorrow. Already thinking about going again. ?
Really good, authentic, Mexican food. I would definitely eat here again. They not only bring out complimentary chips and salsa but queso as well!
Delicious and cheap compared to similar restaurants in the Des Moines metro area.
They have a large menu selection so you can find something you like.
What a find! This place is hidden along a dreary, small-town street in downtown Perry. I admit my expectations weren't very high for a Mexican restaurant in Iowa, but this casa delivered.
I ordered the camarones de casa, which was bacon-wrapped shrimp with green pepper and onions covered in cheese. It was served on a hot skillet plate with a large side of rice, beans, and toppings. The bacon was crispy and the shrimp de-tailed, cooked perfectly.
I would definitely recommend this place if you ever find yourself in Perry.
Food was great, had the taco salad and was amazing! Authentic Mexican restaurant with the look of an upscaled eatery. Brand new interior. Overall best Mexican restaurant I've been to!
I stopped here for lunch on a long bike ride, and boy am I glad I did. Casa de Oro is an awesome full service family Mexican restaurant with authentic food, great salsa, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. Great Mexican food is rare in this area, so I can see myself making the half hour drive from Johnston to eat here.
Although called 'Casa De Oro' my husband & I affectionately call this place "Jefe's". Sal is The Boss and his team always serves up a fabulous meal! My Fav are the pork burritos with Verde sauce (If I could get a bucket of the Verde sauce, a straw, & a private corner, I just might die a happy woman) and the tortilla soup is the best ANYWHERE. The staff is respectful, attentive, wonderful. If you are in Des Moines, the trip to Perry is 100% worth it. I genuinely hope when you come to Jefe's your experience is as awesome as every meal my husband & I have had here in the past 11 years.
Tasty food for a very reasonable price. The service was prompt and friendly. (Elisa was awesome!)
Atmosphere was cool, but it was a little bit noisy...Not a big deal though, because as a Mexican restaurant with a festive atmosphere it's supposed to be noisy.
Enjoyed sitting upstairs with a view of the street down below, getting to hang with my mom and dad. If you are ever in Perry, Iowa you won't go wrong eating at Casa De Oro.
Very well prepared Mexican fare in a nicely decorated restaurant.
The staff is very quick to seat you, and apparently there is also an upstairs dining area.
The menu had many varieties of the usual Mexican fare, there are so many combos, that it may take you a little while to settle on just one.
One of the things that was a definite bonus was a bowl of queso that is served with the chips and salsa. I've never had free queso, and it was pretty good. The salsa was a bit runny, but had a nice amount of zip to it.
We had to wait a bit long to get our food, but it arrived hot and well prepared. The wait wasn't too long but it was noticeable.
Another interesting part of the atmosphere was the lack of any music. No Mexican music in a Mexican restaurant? Weird, but not a biggie.
We live in Omaha but we visit Perry quite often to visit my sister and we have been to Casa de Oro many, many times because we love it! The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is nice. The folks that work in there are friendly and work hard to make sure that you have a pleasant experience. The food is always delicious. My favorite is the #30... bacon wrapped shrimp! YUMMMM!!! Portions are large and you definitely get your money's worth. I can't recall what my kids get off the kids menu but its huge! Most of the time my kids are still hungry after getting a kids meal at most restaurants. Keep up the good work and we look forward to seeing you many more times in the future!
Pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant in Down Town Perry. Stopped with my brother to check it out for a late breakfast/early lunch. Service was prompt, and we had fresh chips and salsa as we looked over the menu. The salsa they provided was decent - one was a traditional tomato based and the other was a white cheese sauce - we enjoyed both. The chips were very fresh, they will still hot when brought to our table. I had the Huevos Con Chorizo (testing the breakfast type dishes) and he had the Flautas Plate (1 chicken/1 beef). Both meals came out in no time, very fresh and hot, direct from the kitchen. Portions were good and everything was about being hot and fresh. I really enjoyed the Chorizo and my brother like both the chicken and beef flautas - he tried one of each to get a taste. I really liked the Mexican rice and the beans had an interesting smoke touch of flavor that provided something different. I look forward to going back for dinner with my wife and based on previous ratings we should not be disappointed. The menu has lots of options and combos to choose from. The restaurant itself is clean and modern with a touch of Hispanic flavor in the dcor.
Very nice place... Alot better than I would have thought form outside.. warm chips were served promptly with cheese and salsa. The food was hot and delicious and the waiter and waitress were amazing and never let us run out of chip or drinks the whole visit...
Will stop back
RAGBRAI stop for us. Salsa on point and free queso to boot. Had the fajitas and was very satisfied. It was great to find a good restaurant in a small community. Keep it up!
Great place! They give you nice fresh chips and queso dip when you arrive. The food was all good. Every member of my family was very happy with a variety of items. Service was great and fast and the decor is just beautiful! It was a very pleasant atmosphere. We're tourists from San Diego where mexican food is excellent and this place really is a good value and overall nice experience.
Have had lunch here a few times. Always clean, quick, and courteous service. Chips, salsa, and queso are fresh and excellent. Meals have always been good, on the better end of the central Iowa Mexican restaurant meals. Would definitely put this location in the top 4 or 5 of smaller town mexican restaurants in the state. And probably at the top of all restaurants in Perry in general. Will be back when I'm in town again!
I'm a big fan of Casa de Oro! Reasonably priced Mexican comfort food. The warm chips, queso, and salsa as you sit down in the cozy booths and tables are a great indication of what's to come. The staff is friendly and helpful without being pushy. I like the fajitas, Casa de Oro burrito, and everything else I've tried. The whole place is clean and also surprisingly has a full bar. Pro tip: order the largest horchata of your life in the big mug!
Fantastic find! Really good queso and salsa. Food was terrific. Margarita was exactly prepared as I requested. Prices were fair. Staff was great.
Fantastic food and service all around
My wonderful wife and I like their picadillo Taco salads they are REALLY delicious !!! Their cheese dip for their hors d'oeuvre chips is absolutely amazing!!! Man I could eat one right now just thinking about how delicious their tasty goodness is !!! You Stir It Up From the Bottom and all that delicious steak and mouth-watering food masterpiece from the fork to your mouth almost cannot get there fast enough. I might sound like a Savage right there but I get super stoked because it is so good!? Fantastico!!!
Great place to eat! Very good food and staff is quite accommodating.
Our family enjoys dining here. The food is delicious, quick service and reasonable prices.
The last couple times I went, I wasnt impressed. Not many restraunt choices in Perry. Decided to give it another chance. I had arroz con cmerones. Awe some. Bought my 7 yr old the trio or tres amigos. Steak, chicken and shrimp. Asked for fries instead of rice and beans. My picky 7 yr old ate more tonight then typical. Ate the chicken, fries and steak. Left me the bacon rapped shrimp in cheese. I also ordered a chille relleno, it was cooked the way they are supposed to. No skimping. Had to take food home for lunch tomorow. Service was awsome. They were getting there butts handed to them. Party up stairs and packed house downstairs. I'm actually very impressed. They keep up the job they did tonight, I'll continue to go back. Time will tel. But awsome job tonight. Tonight was worth every dime. Thank you.
Food was absolutely delicious! Well seasoned and generous portions. Great service too. I'll be back for a visit any time I'm in Perry.
Very good food and service.
Love this place. Great Fajitas.
Foods really great service is the best love the atmosphere.
We love this place. Service is always excellent and the food is fantastic. We go here often.
Awesome food. Amazing service. Great atmosphere and decor. Love it.
Quality ingredients, you are not getting short changed here.
Had the steak, shrimp, chicken plate.
Every item in my plate was delicious..
Beans and Rice, this last was pleasantly moist and as much as I wanted, it was just to much on my plate.
I got a to go box..too good to let go.
Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Got my food in a timely manner too.
